If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikimedia Commons (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. If the content is a derivative of a copyrighted work, you need to supply the names and a licence of the original authors as well.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag, then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multilicense GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and/or licensing of this particular file. It has been found that you've added in the image's description only a Template that's not a license and although it provides useful informations about the image, it's not a valid license. Could you please resolve this problem, adding the license in the image linked above? You can edit the description page and change the text. Uploading a new version of the file does not change the description of the file. This page may give you more hints on which license to choose. Thank you.

Wikimedia Commons has a specific scope

Thank you for providing images to Wikimedia Commons. Please keep in mind that images uploaded to Commons should be useful to all users of Wikimedia projects. This is possible only if the images can be found by other people.
To allow others to find the images you uploaded here, the images should be in some place that can be found by navigating the category structure. This means that you should put the images into appropriate topic pages, categories, optionally galleries, or both of them (see Commons:Categories). To find good categories for your images, the CommonSense tool may help.
You can find a convenient overview of your uploaded files in this gallery.
The important point is that the images should be placed in the general structure somewhere. There are a large number of completely unsorted images on Commons right now. If you would like to help to place some of those images where they can be found, please do!

Burzagli, mentre apprezzo molto le splendide immagini della sua collezione personale che lei ha voluto rendere disponibili a tutti, mi chiedo se il tipo di licenza che lei ha scelto sia il più adeguato. Teoricamente, a meno che una foto non scattata da noi non sia MOLTO vecchia, (diciamo 1880) avere la certezza del fatto che l'autore sia morto da almeno 70 anni è arduo. Esempio: il fotografo X ha scattato a vent'anni una foto nell'anno 1900, ed è morto a 85 anni, ovvero nel 1965. Le sue foto, ahimè, NON sono nel pubblico dominio, anche se l'immagine in sé risale a ben 108 anni fa. E il fatto che noi ignoriamo che l'autore sia lui non implica che la foto NON sia coperta da diritto. "Sconosciuto" non equivale ad "anonimo". Infatti per la legge la regola è: OGNI opera dell'ingegno è coperta da copyright, salvo in tutti i casi in cui si è in grado di dimostrare il contrario.
Dividerei i suoi uploads in quattro gruppi, al di là ovviamente delle foto scattate da lei, che non pongono nessun problema, e mi permetto di rivolgerle alcuni suggerimenti, allo scopo di evitare che parte di quanto lei sta caricando venga col tempo cancellata.
- Un primo gruppo riguarda la storia della sua famiglia. Per la quale ho creato la Category:House of Burzagli. Se ritiene che parlare di "casata" nel suo caso sia eccessivo, possiamo trasformarla in Category:Burzagli family, sul tipo di Category:Garibaldi family. Per questo gruppo le chiederei di essere un poco più generoso con le didascalie. Ad esempio, provi a guardare le integrazioni che ho fatto alle lapidi dei suoi avi in latino. Prese una per una le immagini hanno poco interesse "enciclopedico", se non si fornisce il contesto che ha spinto a caricarle su Commons. Ma tutte assieme esse danno, per l'appunto, la storia di una casata, o famiglia che dir si voglia. Ma perché lo diano devono essere opportunamente catgorizzate e illustrate. Sapere che una lapide sta in una chiesa, non implica che ciò basti per decidere che un'enciclopedia online deve possedere quella foto.
- Un secondo gruppo riguarda opere dei suoi avi, sia fotografie che scritti, come ad esempio il libro su Leonardo da Vinci. In questo caso se le opere sono nel PD, è necessario che lei ci aiuti a dimostrarlo fornendoci la data di morte di queste persone, che nel caso di Vincenzo Burzagli non appare da nessuna parte. Se invece tali opere non sono ancora nel pubblico dominio, non essendo i loro autori morti da almeno 70 anni, è a mio parere opportuno che lei crei un copyright specifico per la raccolta della sua famiglia, del tipo {{PD-Burzagli}} (facendosi aiutare da un adm per la creazione del tag con le spiegazioni), per mezzo del quale spiegare che se anche le opere caricate da lei non sono di per sé nel P.D., è lei a porcele attraverso una donazione che effettua attraverso l'apposizione di quel tag. Sarebbe magari opportuno procurarsi anche un "ticket" dagli adm di Wikipedia, ovvero di un numero di codice da apporre nei suoi uploads e che rimanda una sua dichiarazione relativa al fatto che lei intende veramente porre nel pubblico dominio il copyright delle opere delle quali lei è l'unico erede, e che comprende i termini della licenza (GNU o Creative commons, a sua scelta) sotto la quale ha scelto di porle. Questo perché i passato dubbi sull'effettiva condizione di presenza nel P.D. di un'opera si sono sempre conclusi con la cancellazione da Commons della stessa.
- Un terzo gruppo riguarda opere indirizzate a membri della famiglia Barzagli, lettere e telegrammi. Ora, il diritto materiale su una lettera appartiene al suo possessore, ma la proprietà intellettuale appartiene a chi l'ha scritta, ed ai suoi eredi, fino a 70 anni dalla morte dello scrittore. I soli casi esenti da tale norma sono o gli scritti totalmente privi di interesse creativo (la classica "lista della spesa", che può avere interesse al più come manoscritto, se chi la scrisse era Petrarca, ma non "contiene" informazioni), ma allora non si vede perché caricarli su Commons, oppure gli scritti di Benito Mussolini, la cui proprietà letteraria, se non ricordo male, fu sequestrata come bottino di guerra dagli Alleati. In proposito, occorre informarsi. Se ciò non fosse avvenuto, la proprietà letteraria, ovvero la possibilità di dare il permesso di pubblicarli, l'ha la famiglia Mussolini, e non chi abbia ricevuto tali lettere. Ahimè. Se ciò le pare assurdo, pensi a migliaia di curatori letterari e biografi alla prese coi capricci di eredi che hanno il potere di vita o di morte relativo a cosa pubblicare e cosa censurare... è la croce di tutti loro. Ma è la legge, piaccia o no (a me NON piace). del resto, questa è la stessa legge che permette a LEI di decidere di porre o meno nel Pubblico Dominio gli scritti dei suoi, di avi. Ebbene, essa fornisce il diritto degli eredi degli scritti di altre persone diretti ai suoi avi, di decidere di bloccare tale operazione per gli scritti di LORO pertinenza. Qui va fatta una cernita, e molta attenzione, caso per caso. Alcuni di questi documenti, previa discussione con gli avvocati che frequentano Wikipedia, andranno purtroppo cancellati. Me ne dolgo, ma è la legge.
Per facilitare la cosa ho raggruppato in categoria le foto che possono essere state scattate di persona da Ernesto Burzagli. Starà a lei verificare, e in ogni caso dichiarare, che lo sono veramente. Noti che se Ernesto Burzagli possedeva i negativi, in caso di opera anonima era lui, per la legge, l'autore di tali immagini. In caso di controversia fa infatti fede il possesso del negativo.
- Un ultimo gruppo riguarda infine i ritratti fotografici di membri della famiglia Barzagli palesemente non scattati da loro ma da terze persone. Qui occorre considerare caso per caso. Se si tratta di fotografie su commissione, Nel caso invece di fotografie firmate da terzi, il copyright non appartiene a lei, ma agli eredi dei fotografi. Ad esempio, per questa foto File:Burzagli_giovane.jpg, il copyright è degli eredi di Francesco Pesce, e non di quelli di Ernesto Burzagli. E così via. Le chiedo quindi, in primis di fare molta attenzione ai suoi uploads in questo campo, e non solo per quelli targati Burzagli. La regola vale anche per qualsiasi altra foto non scattata da lei personalmente. In secundis, di volere avere la gentilezza di esaminare il retro e gli angoli delle foto da lei caricate senza nome dell'autore, per individuare il fotografo, in modo da poterlo aggiungere. Senza tale accorgimento, le immagini dovranno essere cancellate, in quanto la loro condizione di opere nel PD non è dimostrate, né dimostrabile, mentre è sempre possibile dimostrare l'opposto, semplicemente mostrando un'altra copia della stessa immagine, firmata.

Please help replace this outdated license

Thank you for donating images to the Wikimedia Commons. You have uploaded some images in the past with the license {{PD}}. While this was a license acceptable in the early days of Wikimedia, since January 2006, this license has been deprecated and since October 2008 no new uploads with this license was allowed.
The license on older images should be replaced with a better and more specific license/permissions and you can help by checking the images and adding {{PD-self}} if you are the author or one of the other templates that you can see in the template on the image page.
