In April of 2015 Anzac troop train "Bety" re-enacted the journey from Winton to Brisbane for the centenary of Anzac Day 1915-2015. Departing Winton on April 20 "Bety" took 200 passengers on the first leg of its historic journey from Winton to Brisbane. It was the same route trains travelled 100 years ago to take young men to war from outback Queensland. Five days after leaving Winton, the Anzac troop train re-enactment made its final stop at Roma Street railway station in Brisbane on Friday afternoon, April 24.
