Description
English: Admiral R Hari Kumar CNS, launched the Indian Navy Digital Library (INDL 2.0) portal on 18 May 2022 in presence of Principal Staff Officers of Indian Navy. The Navy launched its maiden digital library in 2018. 54,000 users have registered in the last three years. INDL 2.0 is an upgraded version of the library with increased subscription of e-resources. The subscribed e-resources contain a variety of genres like Military, Warfare, Science, Engineering, History, general reading etc. The highlight of this version is addition of 100 e-book titles called the CNS Reading List. These books are a must read for every naval officer and are personally selected by Chief of the Naval Staff. INDL 2.0 in addition to magazines and newspapers of many languages has a plethora of professional military titles like IHS Janes, Proquest Military and e-book Library Database, technical journals like EBSCO database, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Journals database, Taylor and Francis Journal, Politics and International Relations Journals from Sage, Journal Storage Security Studies Collection (JSTOR) and magazines on naval architecture like Marine Professional Ship and Boat International, Naval Architects etc. INDL 2.0 also has a new mobile application for seamless and secure access to e-resources on tablets and personal smart mobiles. MyLoFT (My Library on Fingertips) is the e-aggregator for the INDL and the website is maintained by the Directorate of Naval Education.

Exemptions: The license does not cover the following kinds of data: a. personal information; b. data that is non-shareable and/or sensitive; c. names, crests, logos and other official symbols of the data provider(s); d. data subject to other intellectual property rights, including patents, trade-marks and official marks; e. military insignia; f. identity documents; and g. any data that should not have been publicly disclosed for the grounds provided under section 8 of the Right to Information Act, 2005.
